Staunton Chow is known widely as a small premiere multi-disciplined
Engineering/Architectural consulting firm providing professional
services for new construction, repair, alterations, and
maintenance projects for nearly 50 years.
Over
the years, we have provided expert consulting services consisting
of full service project management for public authorities,
private corporations and governmental agencies.
Staunton
Chow’s work ranges from the architectural design and
engineering of individual buildings and structures to “On-Call”
performance type contracts for a variety of projects.
Through
the efforts of the firm’s highly qualified and experience
staff, SC now enjoys a highly respected status in the professional
community, one in which the firm’s fine reputation
precedes it in many circles. Amongst many of the military
and public agencies with which SC does business, the firm
is not only regarded as their top design firm, but also
the benchmark from which others are judged. In a business
where work is awarded through qualifications and not through
bids, SC is unique in that over 90% of the firm’s
contracts are obtained through repeat clients or referrals.

New Jersey 07310. This location is directly across from
the Pavonia PATH Station.

Mr.
Kin Chow, President and Chief Executive Officer of Staunton
Chow, P.C., is a licensed Professional Engineer and a Graduate
of the Polytechnic Institute of New York. Mr. Chow has over
23 years of experience in the fields of Mechanical and Civil
Engineering.
He
is a leading expert in aviation fueling systems including
the design of an award-winning $11.0 Million Jet Fuel Storage
Complex/Pressurized Aircraft Hydrant Fueling System for
the New Hampshire Air National Guard. His expertise in this
arena has been sought by clients within and outside the
United States. Mr. Chow is a member of the Society of American
Military Engineers, the Airport Minority Advisory Council
and the American Association of Airport Executives.

Also
a Graduate from the Polytechnic Institute of New York and
a licensed Professional Engineer, Mr. Joe Cardenas is Vice
President of Staunton Chow. He has over 23 years experience
in Environmental Engineering and is directly responsible
for the steady growth of Staunton Chow's Environmental Engineering
Division.
Over
the years, Mr. Cardenas has been involved in many of the
largest projects awarded by the New York City Department
of Environmental Protection. Mr. Cardenas has served in
the past as the President of the New York City Chapter of
the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. He also
serves as the Manager of Business Development.

Mr.
Thomas H. Liu is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin
with a Masters in environmental engineering and Bachelors
in civil engineering. Mr. Thomas Liu is an Associate Partner
of Staunton Chow. He has over 27 years experience in civil\sanitary
and environmental engineering.
Mr.
Liu has managed and participated in numerous transit jobs
during his employment history. His experience has afforded
him the comprehensive understanding of transit systems and
infrastructure design. He currently serves as Chief of Operations
for Staunton Chow. Mr. Liu has affiliations with the Diplomat
of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, the
American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Fire Protection
Association, and the Water Environment Federation.

K. Fritz, AIA

Mr.
Robert K. Fritz is a graduate from the New Jersey Institute
of Technology. He is a Registered Architect and a member
of the American Institute of Architects and the Roof Consultants
Institute. Mr. Fritz has contributed to the expansion of
the firm’s Architectural Division. His experience
encompasses comprehensive building design and renovations
including interiors, facility maintenance, historic restoration,
roof replacements and building envelope repairs. building
compliance & life safety code compliance analysis.
He
is currently responsible for the firm-wide architectural
projects design and administration, feasibility studies,
consultant coordination and construction documents preparation,
as well as the firm’s Marketing activities.

HISTORY
The
firm (formerly known as Staunton & Freeman and Jack
L. Staunton Associates) has been in business for over 40
years.
The
original firm, Staunton & Freeman, was a partnership
consisting of two principals, Mr. Jack Staunton and Mr.
Ronald Freeman. The partnership dissolved in 1981.
From
1981 through April 1985, the firm of Jack L. Staunton Associates
operated as a sole proprietorship. For the years 1985-1987,
the firm was a Professional Corporation operating as Staunton
Chow Engineers, P.C., consisting of two principals, Mr.
Kin Chow, President and Mr. Jack Staunton, Vice President.
Mr. Staunton retired in mid-February of 1987. Mr. Joe R.
Cardenas joined the firm in April of 1987 as Vice President
of Staunton Chow.
Both
Kin Chow and Joe Cardenas were Co-Winners of the 1994 Minority
Small Business Person of the Year Honors for Region II awarded
by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Since
then Mr. Thomas H. Liu joined the firm in 1993 as an Associate
Partner and not long ago, Mr. Robert K. Fritz, a prominent
Architect was also added as Associate Partner of the firm.
The firm was renamed Staunton Chow, P.C., Engineers &
Architects.
To
this day, the firm continues to operate as a Professional
Corporation.

AWARDS
Certified
as a Small Minority Business Enterprise by the U.S. Small
Business Administration (SBA) under its 8(a) Program, Staunton
Chow was selected as the SBA’s Firm of the Year (1993-1994)
for Region II (States of New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico
and the U.S. Virgin Islands).
The
U.S. Army New York Area Command and Fort Hamilton honored
Staunton Chow with the “1997 Quality Award”.
In
2000, Staunton Chow was nominated for the U.S. Small Business
Administration’s 8(a) Graduate Firm of the year, Nationwide.
With over 9 million Diversity-Owned businesses nationally,
Staunton Chow was selected as one of the Top 100 Diversity-Owned
Businesses in the State of New Jersey.
In
addition, Staunton Chow was the designer of a new Jet Fuel
Storage Complex and an Aircraft Hydrant Fueling System at
Pease Air National Guard in New Hampshire. This fueling
system received an award from the American Petroleum Institute
and the Air National Guard. It ranked the best amongst the
93 Air National Guard Flying Unit Installations in all U.S.
Territories.
